Liberty Torch T-Shirt - For a year or so before the American bicentennial in 1976, the US Postal Service released tons and tons of stamps commemorating American history, the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and other patriotic topics. This close-up view of the Statue of Liberty's torch is one of my favorites. It is so elegant and beautiful. The balcony around the torch has been closed to the public since 1916, so here's your opportunity to get a close look. The inscription in the corner of the stamp reads "Freedom of Conscience - An American Right" which is just a fancy way of saying Freedom of Thought, and is not to be confused with freedom of expression. Liberty Enlightening the World by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi was a gift to the people of the United States from the people of France in 1886. You'll feel tons of American pride when you wear this Statue of Liberty T-Shirt.
