Between the Poles

I continue my efforts to regain Going Postal's eminence in the Google rankings but the results so far have been a mixed bag. Our homepage continues buried on the 17th page or thereabouts but most of the other pages (with a few distressing exceptions) are either on the first page for their keywords or responding well to my ministrations. One of those exceptions is our Christmas t-shirts page which I would really like to be pulling its weight about now. It's doing well with the key phrase "christmas tee shirts" but when I search for "christmas t-shirts" it's nowhere to be found. It's a shame too since we do have a pretty impressive collection of holiday tees.

This recent Google update (called the "Jagger" update) couldn't have come at a worse time for us. We are like most other retail businesses - the holiday season is extremely important to our bottom line and our sales so far this year are pretty dismal. Bitch moan groan.

Better News Department - I whipped together a new page that I had been thinking about for some time, dedicated to Polish T-shirts. I really like the images on Polish postage stamps, especially the older ones. The irony is that just 24 hours after having launched the page, it has made it to the second page on Google, and that's with hardly any internal linkage. Go figure.

Like most western countries, the eagle as icon and motif has a strong tradition in Poland so the polish Eagle now adorns our t-shirts:
It looks great on a tee whether you're a Pole or not. And here's one that music lovers should like: Printed on an Ash or light brown shirt it has a real feel of a woodcut and is pretty impressive. To see the rest of our Polish t-shirts, just Click Here.
