Advertising and marketing are often what keep a web entrepreneur scratching the head. What works? What doesn't? Believe me, I know what it's like.

Not long ago, I was invited to place our banner on a site the subject matter of which was very appropriate to one of Going Postal's theme pages. The price per impression was so low that I couldn't ignore the opportunity and so bought an initial trial run of 2000 impressions, building a cool banner especially for the experiment.

The results so far have been good enough to warrant an extension of the banner for another 2000 impressions, but this time I'll test a different banner design. At the price I was offered, it seemed a good chance to experiment and discover what really works.

Even around here, two and two often get put together, so I decided it was time to open up some of Going Postal's lucrative real estate to advertising.

Most of our theme pages are consistently ranked on page one or two of Google, MSN Search, Yahoo Search and most of the other search engines, so I know we get good, very targeted traffic to these pages.

Does the theme of your website match any of our pages? (Take a look at our list on the left of the page) If so, we are going to give you an opportunity to grab some of that traffic for yourself, at the same low price that I mentioned above. (Even if you can't match one of our themes, it's worth a try at these prices.)

I kind of doubt that this price is going to last very long, because our traffic grows daily and I'd be a fool to not rethink our rates after a short while. But this is an experiment for us too and I want it to work for all of us.

Of course, you'll be able to track your banner's stats (impressions and click-thrus) with your very own report page and, at these rates, you'll be able to experiment with what works and what doesn't, just like we do.

Also, if I come up with something that works in our own campaign, I'll pass it on to you - it may work for you too!

Right now we're limiting banner size to 468X60 pixels but will probably add others later.
